The conference will address the following topics in research on:

1. Epitaxial quantum dots (including self-assembled and interface structures, dots defined by electrostatic gates etc):

• optical properties and electron transport
• quantum coherence effects
• spin phenomena
• optics of dots in cavities
• interaction with surface plasmons in metal/semiconductor structures
• opto-electronics applications

2. Novel QD structures:

• Fabrication and physics of graphene dots, dots in nano-wires etc.

3. Colloidal quantum dots:

• growth (shape control and hybrid nanocrystals such as metal/semiconductor, magnetic/semiconductor)
• assembly and surface functionalisation
• optical properties and spin dynamics
• electrical and magnetic properties
• applications (light emitting devices and solar cells, biological and medical applications, data storage, assemblers)
